Insect Control, Sunburn, Waterproofing, BBQs

Personal Insect Repellant 1
1cup Distilled Water, 2 tsp Glycerine, 1 1/2 tsp Lemongrass Oil & 1/2 tsp Citronella Oil
Place all of the ingredients into a spray bottle and shake well before use.

Personal Insect Repellant 2
1 cup Aloe Vera Gel & several drops each (vary according to preference) of Lavender,
Citronella & Tea Tree Oil
Mix all ingredients well & store in an airtight container.

Itchy Bite Reliever
Mix water & baking soda to form a paste & rub onto the effected area.

Fly Paper
1/4 cup Maple Syrup, 1 Tbspn each of Brown Sugar & Castor Sugar
Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl & then pour over strips of brown paper. Leave to
soak overnight. Punch a hole in one end of each strip & hang with string.

Sunburn

Sunburn
Mix equal parts of vinegar & olive oil, then dab on effected area with cotton balls.
OR
Mix 2Tbspn vinegar with 1/2 cup water & dab on affected area with cotton balls.Waterproofing

Waterproofing Canvas
Mix together 3 cups of  soybean oil & 1 1/2 cups of turpentine.
Paint on surfaces & let dry. Re-apply after 1 - 2 years if items are used alot
or have had alot of outdoor exposure.

Waterproofing Concrete
Mix 650gms ammonium stearate with 15litres of hot water. Apply 2 coats with a paintbrush.

BBQ

BBQ Cleaner 1
The traditional ritual of starting the BBQ and letting the plate heat up, then
pouring some beer over the hotplate & rubbing with scrunched up newspaper.
There may be better cleaners out there, but none that add that extra taste to the snags (sausages)! 

BBQ Cleaner 2
Another customary way is heating the plate & rubbing salt over the plate using newspaper.
